Education & Outreach

The Nutrient Network's experimental sites are ideal living classrooms for ecology, statistics, wildlife, and botany courses. Please read about two examples below.

  • Peter Adler, a professor and researcher at Utah State University, incorporated Nutrient Network data into an assignment for his students. Dr. Adler is one of the founders of the Nutrient Network and has a research site at the Sheep Experimental Station.
  • A Research Experience for Teacher (RET) Program was developed by Elizabeth Borer & Rima Givot. Please take a look at the accompanying lesson plan and insect key. Dr. Borer is one of the founders of the Nutrient Network and has several research sites in the United States. She worked on this program in collaboration with Rima Givot, a biology teacher at Sisters High School.

If you would like to get involved in education and outreach, please contact us at: aasmus@umn.edu. We'd love to hear from you!
